urban climate
A climate that shows some modifications to the climate experienced in the surrounding countryside, entirely due to the effects of an urban area. The main effects of an urban area are to increase local temperatures by several degrees and to reduce wind speeds. The greatest effects are found in calm weather and the effects tend to disappear when regional winds rise above 20km/hr / 15mph.
