frontal system
A frontal system is the syntheses of several fronts which are all acting together in the cyclone. There may initially be only a stationary front comprising the system. After cyclogenesis, a warm front, cold front, and stationary front will make up the frontal system. When the cyclone begins to occlude, an occluded front will be added to the frontal system. These fronts will have varying strengths and orientations relative to the extratropical cyclone during the cyclone's life cycle.
