BIOME

The name for a large area where the vegetation is generally the same. The main global vegetation types (biomes) are: steppe, savanna; deciduous forest; coniferous forest; tundra; tropical rainforest and desert.The main vegetation patterns are controlled in their turn by climate and so the patterns of biomes and major climatic regions of the Earth are closely related.
